Last Monday, April 3rd, the first session was carried out at the Campus San Joaquín of the institute. The program considers theoretical classes and practical exercises that will be evaluated by the Mediapro team once the course finishes. A non-determined group of students will have the chance to be hired by the company in order to strengthen their team with trained staff for the multisport event of the Americas.

The first classes will be in charge of Víctor Ventura, member of the Mediapro Broadcast School team, who will start teaching basic concepts about the audiovisual world. Some of the students will have online classes because they study at the Talca and Concepción Santo Tomás institute campuses.

In this sense, Darío Cuesta, the national Communications Director of said educational institution, indicated that “we have high expectations before being selected for this training; it’s such a great honor, but also a big responsibility. Our objective is training our students the best way we can, giving them the largest quantity of tools possible, so Mediapro can select students to work in the Games. In total 400 students applied.”

In addition, professor Víctor Ventura emphasized the role that Mediapro fulfills in the places where they work as a team. Ventura added that “wherever we go, we try to prioritize local things. The teams are formed by people from those countries where we work. I’m proud to be here, in Chile, because we did the same training course in 2019 for the Lima Games, so, the fact that we’re repeating it means that it worked. This is a matter of action and achieving goals.”

Guillermo Cruces, head of the Television area from Santiago 2023, was optimistic about the training course “you don’t have an opportunity like this every day, so I hope the students can enjoy it and learn from a team with experience in worldwide events, Pan American Games, and Champions League.”
