SANTIAGO 2023 LEGACY: EDUCATION PROGRAM ARRIVED IN LA PINTANA

THE SANTIAGO 2023 CORPORATION HAD A SUCCESSFUL SESSION DURING ITS VISIT TO THE VICTOR JARA SCHOOL IN LA PINTANA. STUDENTS ENJOYED A RUGBY 7 CLASS TOGETHER WITH TEACHERS AND MEMBERS OF THE TRAPIALES RUGBY CLUB, FROM THE SAME DISTRICT.

La Pintana was the scene of a new training session of the Santiago 2023 Education Program. The objective was to highlight the social role of sports, particularly in inclusion and sustainability.

In this sense, on November 29 a new activity was held at the Victor Jara School. The students attended a sports clinic given by teachers and members of the Trapiales Rugby Club, in which they learned the main characteristics of this discipline.

Throughout the session, some details for the official implementation of the Education Program were discussed. In addition, the students got closer to Rugby 7, considering that the competition will be held in La Pintana during the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago.

Juan Sepulveda, school teacher and Trapiales coach, valued the meeting: “the idea is to raise awareness among the students so that they get to know the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games and its importance, in addition to Rugby, which is the sport that I play. Through this activity they were able to handle the ball and learn basic rugby techniques. I think it was a success."

While the principal of the educational institution, Pamela Ready, pointed out: "We are very happy with this training session. This is going to be an important event not only for the country, but also for La Pintana, which will be the host. This allows us to promote sports, motivate students and demolish myths, such as that of a sedentary youth in the district.”

We continue to strengthen the legacy of the most important multi-sport event in our history!
