One of the host districts is Lo Espejo, located in the southwest sector of the capital and venue of the Paralympic sport “Boccia.” “For us, it’s very meaningful that a district like ours received an event of this magnitude,” affirmed the mayor, Javiera Reyes.

The authority reflected about the the importance of physical activity and the location of large events in our country: “we’re very happy, there is a high expectation from our side and our community about what it’ll mean and it’s very important from a justice point of view and how sports and sport events are distributed in our country.”

LO ESPEJO COMMUNITY PRESENT IN SANTIAGO 2023

Through conversations with neighbors, painting murals  in emblematic spaces and sport areas in schools, the Santiago 2023 Corporation is getting linked with people and organizations from venue districts, giving this way a main character role to the local community.

This happened a few days ago in the Alicia Aritzía school located at the Población Santa Olga, Lo Espejo district, when the Boccia Colombian delegation shared with students. “We want our schools to get involved with this process and also our sport organizations. Here, in fact, boccia will be carried out and we want everyone being part of this,” concluded Reyes.

The Parapan American Games will be carried out from November 17th to 26th in the Metropolitan Region, with an epicenter in the Parque Estadio Nacional and diverse venues located in Pañalolén, Isla de Maipo, La Florida, Pudahuel, and Lo Espejo, this last place is where it’s been developed the organizing committee test.
