Saturday, November 25th, 2023.- On the final day of boccia at Santiago 2023, Canadians Alison Levine and Iulian Ciubany secured the gold medal in the BC 4 double category by defeating the Colombian siblings Edison and Leidy Chica (world number one) in a close match that ended 3-3 and was only decided in the tiebreaker. With this victory, the North Americans earned a spot in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This was the second gold medal for the North Americans, following Levine's earlier success in the BC4 female's individual event.

"It's something we've been waiting for for many years. We are very happy; I had never been to a Parapan American Games before. We defeated the world number one, and we also qualified for Paris. Truly an amazing experience," said Ciubanu. Alison added, "It's an incredible feeling. It was a tough match, and we were able to pull through."

In the bronze medal match, Mexicans Karla Manuel and Edgar Mora defeated Brazilians Andre Martins and Josiane Batista da Silva 4-3.
