Wheelchair Tennis: United States Secures Bronze Medal in Quad Mixed Doubles

The North American team, composed of Andrew Bogdanov and David Wagner, defeated the Colombian duo of Daniel Campaz and Albeiro Moreno to claim the third spot in wheelchair tennis.

Saturday, November 25th, 2023.- The United States clinched their 43rd bronze medal on Saturday, as the pairing of Andrew Bogdanov and David Wagner triumphed over Colombia with a double 6-4, securing the third position in the quad mixed doubles of wheelchair tennis. 

In the hard-fought match held at the Central Court of the Estadio Nacional, the Americans managed to seize the first set after 41 minutes into the game. The second set followed a similar tone, but the battle extended for over an hour under the capital's sun. 

After nearly two hours of play, Bogdanov and Wagner, who had suffered a defeat in the semifinals against the local duo of Francisco Cayulef and Diego Pérez, claimed their spot on the podium and earned the bronze medal. 

Later on Saturday afternoon, the final of the quad mixed doubles will take place, featuring the pair Cayulef-Pérez against the Brazilian duo of Leandro Pena and Ymanitu Silva.
