The United States Celebrates Two Golds with Records in Para Track Cycling

Hannah Chen Chadwick-Dias and Michael Stephens won in the time trial event at Santiago 2023.

Friday, November 24th, 2023.- The United States adds to its accolades at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games thanks to Para track cycling, securing two more gold medals.

The first finals on this Friday were in the B category 1,000 meters time trial, for both female and male, a discipline for visually impaired or severely visually impaired athletes who compete with a guide.

In the female's event, the champion was the American Hannah Chen Chadwick-Dias, with a time of 1:12.265, setting a new Parapan American record.

The silver went to Argentina's María José Quiroga (1:13.431), and the bronze to Brazil's Bianca Canovas (1:17.706).

Immediately after, in the male's category, Michael Stephens proved to be the fastest, setting another Parapan American record with his time of 1:02.974.

The silver medal went to Colombia's Nelson Serna (1:05.502), and the bronze was claimed by Maximiliano Gómez (1:05.673).
