Expectations for Santiago 2023, 3 years before the Games

This milestone was celebrated through an Instagram Live with the participation of Felipe De Pablo, Executive Director of Santiago 2023; Miguel Ángel Mujica, President of the Chilean Olympic Committee; and the athletes María Fernanda Valdés and Tomás González.

In the program hosted by Soledad Bacarreza, Santiago 2023 Communications Manager, the guests were able to share their opinions on the progress of the next Games.

"We are in charge of carrying out this Pan American dream, where we all do our bit to fulfill it." the CEO of Santiago 2023, Felipe De Pablo commented on the importance of the work that the entire team of the Corporation has done. In addition, he stated that the organization of the Games "is on the right track for Santiago 2023"

The Minister of Sports, Cecilia Pérez and the president of Panam Sports, Neven Ilic, did not want to be left behind in this online broadcast, and sent a message to the entire public. "We have worked hard to show our advances in sports infrastructure and sports," said the minister, while the President of Panam Sports commented that he wants to "deliver the best of products to all of America and to the sports family."

Regarding athletes, the weightlifter classified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, María Fernanda Valdés, hopes that Santiago 2023 will be a “boost for all sports” and stressed that the future sporting event “is a great opportunity for the country , so that people enjoy and can live this experience ”.

For his part, the Pan-American gold medalist in the gymnastics floor event, Tomás González, described the event as a "mega sports festival" and hopes that "there will be an injection of resources from the Government" to promote national sport.
